Linking Communities

Be A Welcoming Face for a Newly Arrived Refugee Family!

Linking Communities collaborates with the CWS Refugee Resettlement office to partner local individuals, families or groups with newly arriving refugee families. The local families offer friendship to the refugees and help the refugees navigate their new culture and community. Learn about the world, see your city through new eyes, welcome a stranger and meet many new people who help make Harrisonburg and Rockingham Countythe wonderful area it is.

To partner with a refugee family, at least one person from your group or family must attend a training led by the Linking Communities Committee. If you have questions or would like to be notified about the next Linking Communities training,  please contact linkingharrisonburg@cwsglobal.org.

The most recent training was held April 23, 2016 from 9am-12:30pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 205 S. Main St., Harrisonburg. Stay tuned for more information about upcoming trainings!
